      From £74,000 (dependant on experience and location) + Excellent Benefits

      This role exists in order to support the Head of Conduct & Compliance Advisory in:

      • Supporting the business by providing specialist, high quality, accurate and timely, regulatory advice and guidance. With particular emphasis on UK regulation, but also mindful of the overseas regulatory regimes that also apply across the Market Unit.
      • Take the compliance lead in relation to supporting and challenging the Product and Pricing functions in UKI and Bupa Global. Advise and challenge in relation to new product developments, product governance and the fairness of pricing decisions and value assessments.

      You’ll help us make health happen through:

      • Providing line management and support to the UKI Financial Promotions Team. Help ensure they have the right level of engagement and support from other Compliance colleagues across the UKI Performance Units. Act as a sounding board and point of escalation as required.
      • Working in partnership with business functions, taking the compliance lead for oversight and support of the Product and Pricing Teams in UKI and BG, acting as a trusted adviser, to provide professional and practical compliance advice and guidance in order to identify and mitigate regulatory risk within the business.
      • Developing and maintaining strong relationships business managers and ensure formal business engagement by partnering and challenging senior management on their compliance control environment.
      • Embedding yourself in decision making processes, not as a decision maker, but to enable senior management to make informed decisions that include consideration of regulatory risk and conduct. With particular emphasis on pricing reviews, fair value assessments and product governance.
      • Providing robust and effective challenge and oversight to new propositions, business operations and the resolution of any identified incidents to ensure that an appropriately controlled and customer centric approach is taken. Escalate issues as appropriate.
      • Providing both a ‘regulated entities wide’ and ‘cross business unit’ view of compliance activities in order to develop synergies, high quality compliance and drive consistency where appropriate. In particular, both BUs are expected to apply BINS/BISL level governance to product and pricing governance so the role should work to drive consistency of approach where appropriate. Develop a deep knowledge of these business operations to enable effective challenge across all aspects of the regulated entities.

      Key Skills needed for this role:

      • Significant experience in a regulatory advisory role
      • Strong knowledge of financial services regulatory expectations (this could be FCA or other local regulator/s)
      • Strong understanding of, and ability to, identify conduct risks to the business
      • Extensive business partnering experience
      • Proven ability to generate recommendations which improve business processes and are acceptable to operational management
      • Excellent communication both written and oral, and with experience of communicating to staff at all levels within organisation
