      What You Will Do

Reports to VP - GMDx Strategy & Operations

Ascension is seeking a high-impact executive leader to serve as the backbone of the Growth Marketing & Digital Experience (GMDx) team and elevating the effectiveness of the entire leadership team. This individual also serves as the strategic partner to the Senior Vice President of Growth Marketing & Digital Experience (GMDx).

In this highly visible role, you will act as a strategic force multiplier for the SVP, ensuring the organization’s vision is translated into operational reality. You will not only operate as a proxy for leadership to unblock critical decisions but also lead a high-performing team of Directors responsible for cross-discipline alignment.

While ideal for management consultants who have led teams, this is not a traditional strategy, digital, marketing or product management role; it is a strategic operations and leadership role. While familiarity with those disciplines is a plus, the ideal candidate is a former management consultant or executive strategist who excels at "connecting the dots" across complex matrixed organizations, understanding broad context, communicating, managing the rhythm of the business, and leading senior-level teams to drive execution.

The role will require 20%-30% travel.

      Key Responsibilities:

    • Executive Partnership & Organizational Governance
      • Act as a Strategic Proxy: Represent the SVP in critical forums to unblock decisions, resolve complex issues, and maintain momentum on key initiatives, effectively multiplying executive capacity.
      • Advisory & Synthesis: Synthesize complex inputs from Strategy, Finance, Technology, and Operations into executive-ready briefs and decision frameworks, filtering noise to amplify critical signals for the SVP.
      • Rhythm of Business: Architect and orchestrate the GMDx operating model, including strategic planning cycles, leadership forums, and business reviews, ensuring tight alignment with enterprise goals.
      • Executive Communications: Craft compelling narratives and presentations that distill complex organizational challenges into actionable insights for the C-suite and broader organization.
    • Team Leadership & Capability Building
      • Lead a Team of Strategists: Manage, mentor, and develop a team of 4–6 Discipline Integration Directors, guiding them to become strategic leaders within their respective domains.
      • Community of Practice: Cultivate a culture of rigorous execution and collaboration, establishing standardized best practices and decision-rights frameworks that elevate the team's collective impact.
      • Talent Development: Coach senior-level talent to navigate matrixed environments with high emotional intelligence and operational discipline.
    • Cross-Functional Integration & Execution
      • Operational Architecture: Design and oversee the processes that connect work streams across Marketing, Digital Product, Engineering, and Strategy, breaking down silos to ensure cohesive delivery.
      • Change Management: Spearhead critical change initiatives and cultural programs (including Associate Engagement), ensuring stakeholder buy-in and sustained adoption of new operating models.
      • Process Standardization: Implement frameworks and communication protocols that drive efficiency and consistency across the GMDx ecosystem.
    • Candidate Profile: Who We Are Looking For

      • You are a "fixer" and a builder: You enjoy taking ambiguous challenges and creating structure.
      • You are a leader of leaders: You have experience managing senior individual contributors or directors and elevating their strategic thinking.
      • You are data-rational but people-focused: You can manage a P&L or a KPI dashboard as easily as you can navigate organizational politics and culture.

      What You Will Need

      Education:

      • High School diploma equivalency with 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experiencerequired, with 2 of those years being in leadership/management OR Associate's degree/Bachelor'sdegree with 3 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 2 of those yearsbeing in leadership/management.

      Additional Preferences

      Experience:

      • Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA), Strategy, or Industrial Engineering strongly preferred.
      • 12+ years of progressive experience in roles focused on management consulting, or business transformation within large, complex, matrixed organizations, with familiarity with growth marketing and digital experiences
      • Executive Support Experience: Demonstrated success in senior business partner or internal consulting roles directly supporting C-suite or SVP-level executives is required.

      Core Competencies:

      • Operational Rigor: Proven ability to translate high-level strategy into clear operational plans and frameworks.
      • Influence Without Authority: Mastery of leading cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders at the highest levels without direct reporting lines.
      • Synthesis & Communication: Exceptional ability to synthesize diverse data sets into clear, concise, and persuasive executive communications.
      • Industry Aptitude: While Healthcare experience is a plus, the aptitude to quickly learn complex landscapes is essential.
