      The Senior Director, Pipeline Planning and Management, Danaher Diagnostics, will serve as a scientifically astute business leader, with a primary focus on establishing, filling, maintaining, and stewarding a disciplined biomarker and diagnostics innovation portfolio which reflects the current risk tolerance levels of the organization.

      This position is part of the Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) Office and will be remote.

      In this role you will have the opportunity to:

      • Lead and coordinate cross functional and cross operating company triage and due diligence and business case preparation for Danaher Diagnostics Biomarker Innovation opportunities identified by scientific and technical leaders. As part of this responsibility, this role will also work with Danaher Business Systems teams and Finance teams to help establish standard processes and tools for diligence, developing robust project execution plans, and facilitating go/no go decisions in context of Diagnostics innovation portfolio.
      • Support execution of early innovation partnerships by driving NDAs, data exchange, contracting, and negotiation excellence working with Legal and Finance teams. In this capacity, this will be an externally facing role and partnership with teams focused on cultivating relationships with Academic, government, biopharma, and start-up companies. M&A and equity venture deals are out of scope of this role, albeit this role may on occasion, need to coordinate and collaborate with those business development teams. Further, once in the portfolio, this leader will partner with Diagnostics innovation portfolio management team to ensure alignment of project value and progress with the business case.
      • Closely partner with the Danaher Diagnostics Vice Presidents of Business Development and Strategy and the CSOs during the annual Danaher strategy cycle to serve as a “bilingual” interpreter and “honest broker” to ensure that the scientific voice of the CSO office is incorporated into the strategy. Ability to partner with data and digital teams or gather customer insights through interviews and visits to generate perspectives and provide market, future outlook assessment will be critical.

      The essential requirements of the job include:

      • MBA or a top tier consulting experience with bachelors’s degree in a scientific or engineering discipline is required. Advanced scientific degree preferred.
      • Long-standing experience in the diagnostics and/or pharmaceutical and/or life science/biotechnology industries.
      • Proven experience in financial modeling, analytics, portfolio management and strategy
      • Ability to combine and apply scientific/technical and business knowledge and demonstrate strong business acumen and ability to make balanced and pragmatic decisions.
      • Business savvy, including an understanding of the marketplace, competitors, and technology.

      It would be a plus if you also possess / have previous experience in:

      • An advanced scientific degree
      • A scientific or engineering discipline

      The salary range for this role is $210,000 -$250,000 annually. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

      This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
