      Qcells Distributed Energy Business (DE BUSINESS) is a leader in acquiring, developing, and operating energy assets, focusing on Community, Commercial, and Industrial (C&I) Solar and Energy Storage Systems (ESS) across the U.S.

      Our Project Finance Model:

      We use an innovative Joint Venture (JV) Project Finance Structure, partnering with Tax Equity Investors, Debt Financiers, and Private Equity Funds to finance solar and ESS projects.

      • Qcells DE BUSINESS handles early-stage development, moving projects to pre-construction.
      • Our JV finance partners conduct project valuations at the Notice to Proceed (NTP) stage.
      • At NTP, we are compensated for development costs and margins, enabling rapid capital recovery.
      • This model offers financial stability and quick cash flow, ensuring long-term profitability during construction and operations.

      We are seeking a Senior Director, Project Finance, to lead the evolution of our JV-based financing, develop new financial models, and manage strategic investor partnerships.

      Responsibilities

      • Lead and optimize our JV-based Project Finance Model for efficient capital deployment and risk management.
      • Develop and execute strategies for Tax Equity, Debt Financing, JVs, and Loan Facilities.
      • Expand investor networks, engaging with private equity, tax investors, banks, and lenders.
      • Lead structuring, negotiation, and execution of financing transactions and related documents.
      • Identify and implement innovative financing structures to improve capital efficiency and scalability.
      • Collaborate with internal teams to align financial strategies with project execution.
      • Mentor and manage the Project Finance team, including 1 Director and 2 Managers, with potential for growth.
      • Advise senior leadership on financial strategies, risk, and capital allocation for growth.

      Required Qualifications

      • 15+ years in Project Finance, Renewable Energy, Private Equity, or Investment Banking.
      • Proven experience financing C&I Solar and ESS projects in the U.S.
      • Expertise in JV structures, Tax Equity, Debt Financing, and Loan Facilities.
      • Strong financial modeling, credit analysis, and deal execution skills.
      • Established network of investors, lenders, and financial partners in renewables.
      • Excellent negotiation and leadership skills for complex transactions.
      • MBA and/or CFA preferred but not mandatory.

      The Distributed Energy (DE) team develops, invests in, and manages solar and battery energy storage projects across North America, providing integrated hardware, software, development, investment, and operational services.
