Job Description

- Develop, implement, and enforce governance policies and frameworks
- Review, monitor, and challenge discretionary and strategic spending across all business units
- Collaborate with Procurement and Department Heads to optimize spending efficiency and value
- Provide guidance and approvals on capital expenditures and all high-value spend
- Own the preparation and delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual business spend review materials for executive leadership
- Partner with business leaders to translate review outcomes into actionable project plans; manage timelines and key deliverables
- Partner with Corporate FP&A to integrate spend governance insights into forecasting and budgeting processes
- Support variance analysis and reforecasting efforts with spend-focused lens
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on spend-related decisions
- Foster strong relationships with Procurement, Technology, Legal and Business Operations Teams
- Lead and support special projects and strategic initiatives, including agendas, process flows, project plans, templates, etc.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field: Master's degree or professional certification (CPA, MBA, CFA) is a plus
- 8 – 12 years of progressive experience in Finance, FP&A, Spend Management, or Business Operations
- Proven track record managing governance frameworks and presenting to executive leadership
- Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Proficient in financial systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Workday) and advanced Excel/PowePoint skills; experience with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) a plus.
- Strategic thinker with hands-on execution capabilities
- High integrity and commitment to governance and compliance
- Ability to synthesize complex data into clear, actionable insights
- Adaptability in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Strong influencing skills without direct authority

Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic Senior Finance Manager to lead all aspects of spend governance and drive business case review processes across the organization. This critical role will ensure financial discipline, maximize resource efficiency, and deliver actionable insights to senior leadership. The ideal candidate combines strong financial acumen with strategic thinking and the ability to partner cross – functionally.

This is an exempt position. The base compensation range for this role is $143,500 - $179,500. At VillageMD, compensation is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, location, etc. The selected candidate will be eligible for a valuable company benefits plan, including health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, and access to a 401k plan
