To know that as a valued Senior HR Business Partner we’ll support your ambition, reward your resilience and encourage you to create a career you can be proud of too.

We're the biggest name you've never heard of. You've probably eaten our food - you just didn't realise it. We make innovative fresh products, with around 18,500 colleagues working across the UK, US and China. We’re the market leader in the UK fresh prepared food industry supplying meals, salads, desserts, pizza and bread to leading grocery retailers (including Tesco, M&S, Sainsbury's and Waitrose). We’re ambitious. We’re full of ideas. And we’re ready for more people who share our values and passion for quality to join us.

      The role

An outstanding opportunity for a Senior HR Business Partner to join us as a key member of both the London HR Team and Site Leadership Team at one of our busy Bakkavor Meals London sites, helping to shape and influence the business direction.

Bakkavor Meals site in the Park Royal area of West London employs over 2000 people across three factories and one distribution centre. The factories make chilled ready meals, houmous dips, deli products and savoury accompaniments.

Key to the site’s success is the quality, commitment and engagement of our people.

      What will you do?

You will work collaboratively with the Head of Operations and the Site Leadership Team to shape and deliver the People Plan.

As a true generalist, you will oversee the full breadth of HR activity on site, including talent management, resourcing, employee engagement, reward and employment relations.

You will understand the priorities, challenges and key drivers for the site in order to influence all key decisions. You will need to work closely with the leadership colleagues to ensure that the wider impact and consequences of any change are understood and well communicated. You will ensure that change programmes are managed effectively to meet the objectives of cost, quality and time.

You will need to work closely with central support functions such as HR Services, Talent Acquisition and Learning & Development to ensure that the site continues to attract and retain the right calibre of people at the right time, in line with Bakkavor Values.

You will effectively lead, coach and mentor a team of 3 to ensure that the HR function operates effectively and meet customers’ needs

Reporting to the Senior HR Business Partner for Bakkavor Meals London, you will work closely with her and the HR Leadership community across Bakkavor to ensure that all Group level strategies and processes are embedded at site level.

      About you

The successful candidate will be agile, influential, collaborative, results driven and strategic. Whilst it is not essential to have previous experience in the food industry, you will be used to working in a fast-paced environment with a diverse workforce.

You will hold a CIPD qualification, possess excellent commercial/business acumen and should be financially astute. We are looking for a change leader who has experience of leading programmes at business level. You will have proven experience of formulating people strategies that work in conjunction with an overall, wider business strategy. Finally, you will have good working knowledge for prevailing employment legislation with proven experience leading collective consultations and managing workplace discipline to Employment Tribunal level.
