      About the role

      We are looking for a passionate, curious and experienced Senior HRBP to join us as a strategic partner and trusted advisor, helping to identify and propel lasting people and operational outcomes within our Copper Americas People function.

      Reporting to the General Manager, Human Resources the Senior HRBP is a critical member of the Copper organization. This role leads a team of HRBPs across the Kennecott value chain and provides an exciting opportunity to work across challenging and dynamic environments with passionate and invested leaders and employees. Successful applicants will need to share how they go about building networks, times they've had to dive into complex problems to surface new solutions and what they've learned along the way. We are looking for someone with leadership experience, a curious and collaborative approach who has demonstrated the ability to translate business strategy, objectives and context into the people strategy and organizational effectiveness. Additional accountabilities include:

      • Providing credible advice and coaching on people and culture initiatives, including constructively challenging leaders on their individual and collective effectiveness
      • Influencing senior leaders to define, build, and strengthen employee inclusion & engagement
      • Collaborating with the Areas of Expertise, People Experience teams, and other internal service providers to inform the design of organizational effectiveness strategies
      • Seeking out diverse viewpoints when problem-solving, ensuring strong stakeholder engagement and an ability to gain support for solutions that challenge the status-quo
      • Leading or participating in Group and Functional programs and / or projects across Everyday Respect, culture, I&D, talent, engagement and leadership development
      • Delivering large people-centric projects requiring skills in project management, communication, stakeholder assessment/engagement, and data analysis, often without a blueprint
      • Designing labor productivity initiatives using data driven insights
      • Building capability for today and the future to ensure we have a strong talent pipeline to deliver on our growth strategy

      What you’ll bring

      • Minimum of a BS in Business Management, Human Resources, Organizational Development or have equivalent combination of education and experience; experience working and living internationally a plus
      • Progressive role accountabilities spanning +15 years in business partnering roles in large, matrixed global organizations
      • Substantial business acumen and a passion for getting embedded in the business in which you operate
      • Ability to deliver impactful presentations and provide strong facilitation across a broad range of people and leadership topics to both small and large teams
      • Experience with a variety of coaching methodologies, building high-performing teams, transformation/restructuring and organizational development strategies/interventions
      • Confidence to partner with SMEs in Remuneration, Payroll, Benefits, Recruitment and International Mobility
      • Experience working in a fast-moving environment, requiring agility and an ability to quickly find solutions to problems without precedent
      • Flexibility to work across time zones and partner with team members around the world; ability and interest to travel internationally to see field programs in progress

      Where you will be working

      Our Kennecott mine is a world-class, fully integrated copper mining operation, including a concentrator, smelter and refinery, located just outside Salt Lake City, Utah, in the United States. We produce copper, precious metals including gold and silver, molybdenum and sulfuric acid. Kennecott has been mining and processing minerals from the rich ore body of the Bingham Canyon Mine since 1903 and is one of the top producing mines in the world, comprising approximately 11 percent of U.S. annual copper production.
