- Owning and managing executive (VP+) talent acquisition across the Bank’s business lines and corporate/control functions, providing strategic insights and advice by partnering with hiring executives on complex, specialized leadership needs
- Performing in-depth research to identify passive talent prospects and reviewing and screening candidate applications to present diverse and highly qualified candidate slates
- Taking a proactive, data-driven approach to source and attract executive-level candidates through various channels, building a pipeline of candidates for the Bank’s executive talent pool and bringing insights and ideas to leaders at the Bank
- Advocating and championing Scotiabank’s commitment to diversity and inclusion by practicing inclusive hiring practices and ensuring stakeholders are doing the same
- Managing escalated and complex issues, such as business-related questions and complexities with certain hiring scenarios, ensuring recruitment activities are delivered in compliance with legislative requirements
- Effectively manages complex compensation negotiations with candidates, engaging with our Total Rewards and HR Business Partner teams
- Leading the end-to-end candidate experience, acting as a point of contact and building influential candidate relationships during the selection process
- Contributing to the overall success of Talent COE activities, ensuring goals, plans and initiatives are executed and delivered in support of the team’s overall strategies and objectives
- Supporting the Talent COE function globally and in alignment with Scotiabank’s vision and Global Human Resources’ strategy
- Leading and driving a customer-focused culture throughout the team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
- Proven track record of sourcing and recruiting executive-level talent by using research-driven, proactive methodologies, e.g. market scans, approaching passive prospects, cold-calling, leveraging client and own professional networks, etc.
- 5+ years in an executive recruitment role at complex and/or large companies; executive search firm experience strongly preferred
- Exceptional communications skills with a strong ability to strategically influence and persuade senior leaders
- Results-oriented and able to effectively execute in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical skills and ability to think strategically and cultivate networks and relationships
- Undergraduate degree, preferably with focus on business/human resources and/or work-related experience
- Knowledge of the Banking industry across the Bank’s global footprint is strongly preferred
- Bilingual communication skills in Spanish, as well as French, is strongly preferred
