What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Supervise the Small Business underwriting team, ensuring alignment with guidelines and service standards
- Provide guidance on account strategy, risk selection, and pricing adequacy
- Engage with regional offices to maintain and grow agency relationships
- Identify workflow gaps and recommend process improvements for quoting and binding experiences
- Ensure compliance with underwriting authority and assist with audit reviews
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in an insurance or business-related field, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of eight years of commercial lines underwriting experience, including small business
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of underwriting, risk analytics, and pricing best practices
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- CPCU designation or other underwriting-related designations
- Prior experience with automated underwriting platforms or digital underwriting tools
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and motivate others
