      Position Summary
      The client is seeking a Software Engineer III / Application Technical Specialist to design, develop, and support enterprise software solutions for the Idaho Benefit Eligibility System (IBES).
      This senior-level role requires expertise in software development, system design, Agile methodologies, and modern AI-assisted software engineering. The engineer will help modernize benefit eligibility applications, automate business workflows, and leverage AI technologies to improve software delivery and development efficiency.

      Project Background
      The Benefit Eligibility System (IBES) has been in production for more than 10 years and has undergone continuous enhancements to support changing federal and state benefit programs.

      Current modernization initiatives include:
      Enhancing IBES to support new federal community engagement requirements.
      Automating manual business process reviews.
      Developing guided workflows for benefit processing.
      Leveraging AI technologies to improve software development productivity.
      Exploring agentic AI solutions capable of assisting with continuous software development and code generation.
      Key Responsibilities
      Design, develop, and maintain enterprise software applications.
      Analyze business requirements and convert them into technical solutions.
      Build scalable, high-performance, and mission-critical applications.
      Develop new features and enhance existing applications.
      Troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
      Conduct code reviews and ensure coding best practices.
      Develop and execute unit and integration testing.
      Participate in Agile software development activities.
      Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, product owners, and developers.
      Estimate development effort and meet project deadlines.
      Support software deployments and production releases.
      Provide on-call production support when required.
      Work overtime as needed to meet project deadlines.
      AI & Innovation Responsibilities

      The selected candidate will be expected to:
      Evaluate and implement AI/ML capabilities in software development.
      Use AI tools to accelerate coding, testing, and release cycles.
      Collaborate with business and technical teams to define AI-driven features.
      Explore and support agentic AI development solutions.
      Ensure AI-generated code is maintainable, secure, and aligned with software engineering best practices.
      Required Technical Skills
