What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Implement the Department's Stormwater Permit program in accordance with federal and state regulations
- Support other watershed management activities, including the urban Nonpoint Source program
- Conduct site inspections and compliance determinations, including walking in various terrains
- Manage data entry, retrieval, and analysis related to surface water quality
- Provide program implementation support through travel for meetings and field inspections
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Experience interpreting and applying principles of surface water quality monitoring
- Experience working with soil science and water management principles
- Experience with data entry, retrieval, and data management
- Proven ability to assess biological, chemical, and physical features of lakes, rivers, and streams
- Must be eligible to work in the United States and complete the required Employment Eligibility Form I-9 upon hire
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience interpreting and applying state and federal laws regarding surface water quality
- Education or experience related to Wisconsin's Pollution Discharge Elimination System program
- Knowledge of Wisconsin's urban and construction site stormwater management program
- Familiarity with Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDLs) development and implementation
