- Sends loan packets for newly awarded loans to students and ensures timely and accurate completion. Ensures TILA disclosures are sent to the student, updates service indicators on students account, and updates ECSI of new loans disbursed. Ensures loan documentation is appropriately imaged and filed for record retention purposes and processes paid in full documentation for loans.
- Assist students and parents in loan disbursement process, ensure students and parents understand terms/benefits of loans, assist students with refusal of financial aid including return of aid disbursed, follow up on Parent Plus loan checks not cashed. Answers student and parent inquiries with regards to student loan process and provides OneStop support as needed.
- Monitor completion of exit interviews and manage service indicators associated with the exit counseling process.
- Deposits funds received from ECSI and collections agencies or directly from students related to student loans.
- Processes payments to vendors related to collections or loan servicing.
Classification Title: Student Account Specialist I
Job Description: The University Bursar's office, located in the Finance & Accounting division is accepting applications for a Student Account Specialist I. This position is a part of the Student Loans and Collections team which administers student loans, reconciles student loan activity, and collects on balances due from current and former students. This position assists the team by administering new and existing student loans, processing payments to vendors, and processing deposits for student loan payments. The incumbent in the position will deliver excellent customer service to students and ensure the timely resolution of issues.

Expected Salary: $16.50 - $19.00 per hour; commensurate with education and experience.
Minimum Requirements: A bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Ability to plan, organize and coordinate files, records, and work assignments.
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Ability to work independently and as a team.
Ability to utilize problem solving techniques
Experience with MS Word and Excel
