- Complete Advocacy Training on topics related to supporting student survivors of sexual violence, intimate partner violence, and/or stalking
- Provide administrative support to the the Advocacy Specialist in scheduling client intakes, meetings, and accompaniments with student survivors
- Provide on-campus accompaniments to student survivors as needed
- Assist the Office of Advocacy Support (OAS) staff in the editing, printing, and preparation of advocacy and prevention resources
- Assist OAS staff in the preparation, set-up, and take-down of advocacy and prevention events at OAS
- Complete assigned research projects and present findings to OAS team to help shape OAS programming

This position works directly with the Office of Advocacy and Support (OAS). OAS provides trauma-informed and healing-centered confidential support to GW students impacted by sexual violence, relationship violence, and/or stalking. OAS plays a crucial role in fostering a community that values and promotes healthy relationships through support and prevention programming. OAS is committed to cultivating and strengthening a culture of care that empathetically supports and empowers GW community members. In service of this mission, OAS is proud to work with campus partners to create a safer, healthier, and more informed campus community.
Position Specific Summary
Standard Position Description
The student will support individuals in situations requiring personal support or advisement. Tasks may include: providing appropriate support to individuals in sensitive situations, performing outreach and promoting resources, answering phone, web, and/or in-person queries from individuals soliciting support. Special projects or other duties may be assigned related to specific departmental needs.
