      The Surgical Account Manager (SAM) is responsible for maintaining and building Alcon Surgical Disposable and Instrumentation market shares. They will do this by optimizing the relationship of Alcon with the ophthalmologists and all other persons involved who advise or use Alcon products.

      The SAM will increase sales on equipment and upgrade current installed equipment to latest technology with the main target on Cataract .

      Major Accountabilities

      • Sales management
      • Increase the number of equipment installed
      • Drive IOL & Disposable market share
      • IOL Consignment management
      • Detailing of new products and marketing initiatives to the account base in a targeted way.
      • Conducting training
      • Planning and management of call plans.
      • Feedback market intelligence.
      • Ensure that all territory administration is completed efficiently as necessary.

      Key Performance Indicators

      • Sales management of all customers providing principle point of contact, with the aim of developing long – term sales.
      • Increasing the number of equipment installed. Solve any queries related to the equipment.
      • Detailing of new products and marketing initiatives to the account base in a targeted way
      • Conducting training sessions with external clients.
      • Planning and management of call plans to ensure the most effective territory management
      • Feedback market intelligence to sales and marketing management
      • Ensuring all territory administration is completed efficiently as necessary.
      • QA/PV: Required to notify the Local Vigilance Officer/or delegate of any adverse events and/or quality complaints within 24 hours (including whilst on leave and on public holidays) from receipt or being made aware of such. Adhere to local relevant SOP as may be determined.

      Ideal Background

      • Surgical Sales Medical device background preferred but not essential
      • Experience within ophthalmology is ideal
      • Understanding of the healthcare industry and the private/public hospital landscape on the territory.
      • Experience of travelling, being field based will be beneficial
      • Strong experience in a similar commercial and multinational business is ideal
      • High learning agility and adaptability
