      Technical Specialist –Account Manager

      Remote : This position is fully remote and can only be performed from your home office within Alberta province.

      To support ICF’s growing energy efficiency program delivery, ICF is seeking Account Managers with energy efficiency and demand management experience in industrial sectors (e.g. agriculture, mining, oil & gas, manufacturing, etc) in Alberta. The successful applicants will liaise with customers and industry associations to promote the benefits of energy efficiency. Account Managers will build industry relationships, help identify opportunities for participation in a rebate program, and provide program assistance. As needed, the Account Manager would need to conduct ASHRAE Level 1 or 2 energy audits. Travel around Alberta is required, as much of this work will be occurring in the field.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Reporting to the Program Manager, the Account Manager will develop partnerships with large customers, trade allies and industry associations to enable their participation in the program
      • Provide industrial energy management advice to assist companies in planning, tracking, measuring and implementing energy efficiency initiatives.
      • Communicate program requirements and incentive payment processes to customers.
      • Track and report progress on project implementation and program performance.
      • Identify issues, opportunities, and lessons learned and contributing to the continuous improvement of the program design and delivery.
      • Provide clear and concise communications to customers and other stakeholders as required to maintain high customer satisfaction.
      • Able to provide mentoring to other engineers as necessary to assist with application reviews.
      • Travel to industrial facilities, with reimbursement.
      • Implement recruitment, marketing, and sales strategies for the program to meet programs targets for participation
      • Provide regular reports to Program Manager on program activity
      • Using effective selling skills, assist customers in the understanding of energy saving and comfort benefits of new energy efficient products
      • Conduct webinars and attend industry events to engage with trade allies and customers to promote the program.
      • Liaise with program applicants for a successful and complete application
      • Assist with engineering calculations for energy consuming equipment and program cost effectiveness
      • Provide ongoing client support as needed. Support will include program reporting, meeting attendance and other client communication as needed.
      • Conduct Energy Audits and Equipment Studies to industry standards, such as ASHRAE
      • Maintain and follow Health & Safety protocols

      Basic Qualifications:

      • Degree in mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering is strongly preferred.
      • Demonstrated knowledge of lighting, HVAC, industrial processes and other industrial energy efficient equipment is a must.
      • Outgoing, engaging individual who can build industry relationships to promote the program.
      • Subject matter expertise in energy efficient equipment and processes.
      • 3+ years relevant experience.
      • Experience conducting ASHRAE level 1 and/or 2 audits at industrial facilities.
      • Valid and clean driving license.

      Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

      • Deep knowledge of one or more of the following: pumping; VFDs; compressed air systems; heating and cooling; fans; lighting and/or controls.
      • Knowledge of energy efficiency, demand management, and/or energy consumption.
      • Have a professional engineer designation, or be eligible for a professional engineer designation .
      • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and/or Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP).
      • Team player with the demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment .
      • Experience with measurement and verification.
      • Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English.
      • Time management skills to handle multiple priorities and flexibility to work limited overtime as needed.
      • Self-motivated, able to manage own time minimal oversight.
      • High proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
