      Trainee Finance Business Partner/Accountant - Ref: RT07623
      Salary: G5 (SCP 9-17) - £23,194 - £26,845 per annum
      Contract: 3 Year Fixed Term Contract

      To support our direction of travel and grow your own strategy, a new and exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint Trainee Finance Business Partner/ Accountant within the Finance Business Partner team.

      Finance is a highly skilled profession, with staff working at many different levels.

      Our aim is to support individuals towards qualifying as a Chartered Accountant as part of our new formed trainee accountant programme, whilst providing an opportunity to gain Finance Business Partnering skills required in support of this and provide you with a fantastic opportunity to develop a career as a Trainee Finance Business Partner/Accountant.

      You will also have the opportunity to get involved and support a range of projects to gain a variety of skills, experience and knowledge. In addition, there will be an opportunity to develop and expand your IT skills through the use of various applications.

      The post is for a fixed term of 3 years (36 months) which would be split between working in the office and attending a training provider to undertake training towards becoming a fully qualified Chartered Public Finance (CIPFA) Accountant. In addition, costs relating to the provision of the training will be met by Walsall Council in line with the Learning and Development Policy.

      The post will be paid for 37 hours per week (which would be split between working in the office, working from home and attending CCAB training).

      We are looking for motivated individuals willing to undertake a CIPFA Level 7 Professional Accountancy Qualification and progress at an appropriate rate through the course whilst developing Finance Business Partner skills.

      You will have achieved a relevant degree which must be in a finance related subject (minimum 2.2) or completed full AAT qualification. Please note, in line with CIPFA entry requirements your qualification needs to have been achieved in the last 10 years.

      It is likely that interviews will be conducted face to face within the Civic Centre, and interviews will consist of a short test followed by an interview. Interviews are likely to be held week commencing 9th October 2023.
