      Job Description:

      We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant. In this role you will play a key part in ensuring the smooth progression of legal cases by assisting with document preparation, case tracking, and client communication. You will collaborate closely with the Paralegal and legal team, contributing to efficient workflows and high-quality service for clients navigating sensitive legal matters.       Monthly Compensation: 1,150 to 1,220 USD

      Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
      • Manage documents, deadlines, and client communications with a high level of accuracy and organization
      • Review and proofread legal documents to ensure accuracy and compliance
      • Independently draft legal documents including petitions, stipulations, notices, and basic motion papers
      • Assist in drafting and preparing legal documents including petitions, motions, affidavits, and agreements
      • Prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment to ensure timely case progression
      • Take initiative to move cases forward efficiently, demonstrating a proactive and solutions-oriented approach
      • Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence and ensure proper documentation
      • Perform administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, and document organization
      • Support case management by tracking deadlines, court dates, and required documentation
      • Organize and maintain electronic case files in accordance with firm protocols
      • Collaborate with the legal team to ensure efficient workflow and case progress
      • Ensure familiarity and compliance with court procedures and filings, including NYSCEF and Family Court processes
      • Demonstrate strong experience in New York family law, including divorce, custody, child support, and related matters
      • Support the Paralegal in preparing for hearings and trials by gathering relevant information
      • Conduct legal research on case law, statutes, and family law matters as needed
      • Assist in scheduling client meetings, court appearances, and appointments
      • Respond to client inquiries and provide necessary forms and instructions
      • Communicate with clients via phone, email, or client portals in a professional manner, particularly in high-stress situations
      • Prepare case summaries and maintain updated client records

      Requirements:
      • Schedule: Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM EST
      • Time Zone: EST

      • Experience: 1-2 years in a legal assistant or administrative role
      • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience preferred

      • Industry Experience: Family law experience is highly preferred
      • Language: Advanced English proficiency required
      • Software: Experience with Clio and Microsoft Office Suite required
