Medical Support Assistant (Office Automation)

About the Position: This position is located within Warrior Ohana Medical Home (WOMH) in the Directorate of Medicine, Department of Family Medicine, in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Duties

• Schedule patient appointments at various clinics.
• Provide guidance and training to lower graded employees.
• Arrange for patient consultations with other departments/facilities.
• Generate documents/reports using the automated system and appropriate software.
• Monitor team performance through statistical analysis of workload, population demand, and team operations.
• Perform a variety of administrative duties in support of the medical facility.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled.
• Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 11.
• This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
• Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.
• This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
• This position is required to work uncommon tours of duty hours such as, on-call, working either fixed or rotating shifts, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
