Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Supervisor

Job Description

This role oversees inventory management, shipping and receiving operations, and stand-up forklift activities in a growing distribution environment. The supervisor will establish and refine processes, lead daily warehouse operations, and play a key role in building and developing a new team. A strong focus on shipment inspection, quality control, and accurate documentation is essential.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily shipping and receiving activities to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient movement of materials.
• Oversee inventory control processes, including counting, tracking, and reconciling warehouse inventory.
• Operate a stand-up forklift to move, load, and unload materials safely and efficiently within the warehouse.
• Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments to verify quality, quantity, and compliance with documentation and standards.
• Document inspection results and maintain accurate records for shipments, inventory, and material handling activities.
• Coordinate warehouse operations, including staging, storage, and organization of materials to optimize space and workflow.
• Lead and support general labor and material handling tasks as needed to maintain smooth warehouse operations.
• Use RF scanners and related warehouse technology to track inventory and shipments in real time.
• Ensure adherence to safety procedures and best practices in forklift operation, material handling, and warehouse activities.
• Contribute to building and growing the team by supporting training, guidance, and day-to-day supervision of warehouse staff.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 3 years of experience operating a stand-up forklift in a warehouse or distribution environment.
• Proven experience inspecting shipments to check for quality, accuracy, and compliance with documentation.
• Hands-on experience in shipping and receiving operations, including loading, unloading, and processing orders.
• Strong background in warehouse inventory management and warehouse operations.
• Ability to supervise and coordinate warehouse staff and general labor activities.
• Proficiency in material handling, including safe movement and storage of goods.
• Experience using RF scanners or similar technology for inventory and shipment tracking.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced distribution environment while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in a forklift-focused warehouse setting, including stand-up forklift operation.
• Experience in general labor and material handling within a warehouse or distribution facility.
• Familiarity with warehouse inventory processes, including cycle counts and stock reconciliation.
• Ability to document inspections and maintain clear, organized records for shipments and inventory.
• Comfort working in a non-climate-controlled distribution site.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Worth, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.
