- Experience and knowledge of higher education. Understanding of or aptitude to learn PLNU's academic policies and procedures.
- A self-starter who can work independently and complete tasks in a timely manner with good time management, organizational skills, and independent judgment.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain clear communication with coworkers regarding progress and needs.
- Knowledge and experience working with a diverse population is preferred.
- Strong commitment to attention to details, accuracy, and confidentiality.
- Providing excellent customer service communicating clearly, respectfully, positively, and supportively while interacting with a diverse population of students and colleagues.
- Assisting in advising students, faculty, and other administrative departments and counseling of potential transfer students.
- Partnering with academic departments and students in advising on academic policies and requirements to help ensure student completion of degrees.
- Carefully evaluating academic information and accurately entering data.
- Understanding, explaining, and upholding academic policies, guidelines, processes, and requirements.
- Thoroughly tracking, maintaining, and updating data via spreadsheets and other systems.
- Planning work time to accurately, efficiently, and effectively complete tasks in a proactive and timely manner.
- Assisting with Commencement ceremonies and celebrating our students’ achievements.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in an academic clerical environment required.
- Computer proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and email (Workday a plus!).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team to complete both individual and team duties.
- Evidence of Christian commitment and active church involvement. In addition, staff agree to live in agreement with PLNU’s Community Life Covenant .

- Work is primarily sedentary and may require sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
- Use of computer equipment: computer keyboard, mouse, and monitor.
- Vision to read and distinguish colors in documents, e-mail and other correspondence, and reports on paper and computer monitors.
- Hearing and speaking to communicate effectively with others in person and by phone.
- Will also stoop, push, pull, and lift up to 20 lbs occasionally.

Job Summary:
PLNU is looking for a team member to help students achieve their academic goals by supporting them with the information they need to succeed. Members of this team work individually within a highly collaborative environment. As an Academic Records Specialist, you will need good communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, a commitment to great customer service, and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality. You will evaluate transfer courses, degree progress, and graduation eligibility.
Salary:
Pay Range: $21.76 - $23.50 per hour
Internal Classification: Career Track - Support; Level - 3
This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement after six months of experience in the role with consistently high performance.Job Status:
