Job Description
- Req#: 43686
- Obtain and clarify all necessary information about customer’s requirements.
- Communicate and clarify requirements with suppliers (internal and external).
- Prepare quotations within the guidelines or price lists provided by management and follow-up.
- Review orders, clarify details with customers as needed and enter order details into the SAP system and generate related purchase orders and order confirmations.
- Obtain regular status reports from suppliers / the mill and discuss discrepancies with agreed delivery dates with the mill, escalating as needed.
- Provide customers with regular status reports.
- Management of inventories.
- Coordinate delivery to customers with overseas and local logistics departments.
- May participate in the preparation of the annual sales budget discussions.
- Prepare invoices and follow up payments.
- Optimize processes and structures in his/her area of responsibility.
- Support market research through analyzing and monitoring import statistics related to our product lines
- Successfully work cross-functionally in a team environment.
- Education: BS/BA in Business Administration or related field preferred
- Good knowledge of steel tubulars or steel products (e.g., Industrial/ Mechanical/ Power Gen applications) is preferred.
- Logistics experience; particularly imports, exports, US Customs, freight forwarding.
- Previous experience in similar role in the steel tube industry is preferred.
- One year of sales experience or some level of customer service experience.
- Inter-cultural and diversity understanding.
- Positive attitude, energetic, personable and a reliable team player.
- Skilled in accuracy, detail oriented and organizational abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Confident telephone communication abilities.
- A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
- Proficiency with SAP is a plus.
