      Position Overview:

      We are seeking an Account Sales Specialist to join our Performance and Specialty Chemicals business, responsible for managing a sales territory across the Eastern U.S. and Canada. This role will be instrumental in driving growth by developing strong customer relationships, supporting new product development efforts, and identifying strategic opportunities within target markets. The ideal candidate will combine commercial acumen with a collaborative mindset to deliver value to our customers and contribute to the long-term success of the business.

      Reports To:

      • Sales Director of Performance and Specialty Chemicals

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Promote and sell the organization’s products and services within their region.

      • Manage and develop strategic relationships with selected key Performance and Specialty Chemicals accounts.

      • Establish annual, quarterly and monthly sales plans and priorities in support of objectives and schedule own activities so these targets are met.

      • Develop in-depth relationships with existing and new customers in their region.

      • Gather competitive intelligence, particularly regarding competitor activity, and competitive products and their performance.

      • Pursue sales leads; communicate information about the company’s products; build goodwill to educate the actual or potential user; assess customer needs and suggest appropriate products, respond to customer inquiries; negotiate prices and delivery times within limits of authority; and negotiate and finalize contracts/sales orders to meet revenue targets.

      • Determine customer issues and coordinate assistance.

      • Communicate customer feedback and customer forecast to appropriate contacts within the organization.

      • Assist in devising and implementing pricing strategy.

      • Assist in identification, development, and commercialization of new applications for established and new Ascend products.

      • Travel is expected within this role both local and overnight.

      Required Experience:

      • BS Chemical Engineering/ Chemical Degree, MBA preferred

      • Minimum 5 years business development experience in the Performance and Specialty Chemicals marketplace.

      • Has experience in developing new customers in the Performance and Specialty Chemicals space across multiple markets.

      • Experience within Paints and Coatings, Industrial Chemicals or Agrochemical chemicals sectors are a plus.
