What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Service auto loan accounts that are less than 30 days delinquent and document all collection activities using loan servicing software
- Negotiate payment arrangements with borrowers, offering suggestions for meeting their obligations
- Assist borrowers in developing strategies to retain their vehicles while fulfilling loan obligations
- Accurately document account information and collection activities in a professional manner
- Utilize skip tracing tools to identify and locate delinquent borrowers
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in the collections field, preferably in the subprime consumer lending industry
- Effective communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to interpret and apply federal, state, and local collections regulations
- High School Diploma or GED
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment and independently as well as part of a team
- Familiarity with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA)
- Previous experience in customer service roles within the finance sector
