- One (1) year of recent customer service experience.
- Ability to communicate fluently in English at an advanced level, with strong written and verbal skills, including proper pronunciation and listening comprehension of different accents of the Caribbean region.
- Proven exposure to the Caribbean market,.
- Clean and current Driver’s License with reliable transportation.
- Must be able to successfully complete on-the-job training in our industry, extensively handling inside sales functions, within the first year of employment.
- Must be able and willing to eventually progress into an outside sales role, which will involve in-person visits to customers, travelling domestically frequently/daily and overseas as deemed necessary by sales management. Flexibility to attend Conferences, Trade Shows, visit specific customers, as may be required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills. Must be able to work effectively with sales, pricing personnel as well as with demanding customers.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers and fellow employees.
- Intermediate Computer skills (in programs such as MS Word, Excel & Outlook).
- Possess strong organization and time management skills. Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries and follow procedures and instructions.
- Ability to prepare a variety of reports.
- Ability to think logically and make sound decisions based on own discretion.
- Flexibility to work extended hours, holidays, and/or weekends.
- Experience in inside sales, sales support and/or outside sales.
- Experience working in ocean transportation or industry-related markets.
- Oversees the overall performance/progress of any specifically assigned accounts and interacts with all parties with respect to the success of the same.
- A high level of interaction between sales staff, commercial divisions as well as all offices and/or agencies in order to increase sales and profitability.
- Closely supports Account Executives, focusing on generating new business by analyzing sales leads, piers reports, reviewing competition statistics and manifest reports.
- Works effectively in conjunction with Account Executives, targeting key and/or new accounts.
- Generates sales leads and other pertinent information on both existing and prospective new business.
- Provides the sales department with necessary support and assistance as directed by management.
- Focuses on providing a high level of service, a positive attitude and demeanor are required in order to achieve the highest level of results.
- Keeps management informed of any issues concerning areas of responsibility.
- Responsible for maintaining customer records updated.
- Supports sales objectives as set by management in accordance with specific company goals and directives.
- Problem-solving on behalf of Account Executives and/or customers.
- Flexibility in adapting to changing market trends and conditions. Able to function comfortably in a fast-paced environment.
- Plans and manages an active call cycle in accordance with the standards and directives of management.
- Utilizes all designated/provided resources and tools as directed by management, in the daily job functions.
- Keeps abreast of tariff changes, including any new regulations and changes in rate applicability, maintaining a proactive line of communication with the Pricing departments on related issues.
- Attends department meetings as directed, and/or any other functions such as trade shows as may be required.
- Performs related duties as required by management.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use their fingers.

- The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
