With offices across North Carolina, we are seeking an Accounting Specialist to join our team in the Triangle area. The Accounting Specialist for payables is primarily responsible for processing accounts payable utilizing Great Plains Dynamics accounting software. The position requires knowledge of accounting basics including general ledger accounts, balance sheet and income statement relationships, fixed asset and depreciation processing, and balance sheet account reconciliations.

      Qualifications and Experience:

      • Two-year accounting degree
      • Working knowledge of Great Plains Dynamics accounts payable, purchase order processing, and fixed asset and general ledger modules
      • Minimum three years’ experience in accounts payable function • Knowledge of general ledger account segmenting and reporting by segments
      • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
      • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and demands
      • Strong organizational skills
      • Ability to maintain composure when confronted with stressful situations
      • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, providers, and patients
      • Strong customer orientation
      • Accuracy in obtaining and documenting accounting information

      Responsibilities include but are not limited to, the following:

      • Code invoices for all EmergeOrtho locations, reflecting accurate GL Account numbers
      • Accurately match and code credit card statements with receipts
      • Input invoices in the Payables Entry in Great Plains
      • Tag invoices with Kwik Tag and scan
      • File scanned invoices alphabetically for a check run
      • Post the payables batch
      • Run Payables Trial Balance Report
      • Select checks to print by the due date
      • Match invoices to checks and obtain the approving party’s signature
      • Print large batches once a week with fewer checks printed daily
      • Maintain purchasing System; print to screen Purchasing Batch and apply corrections on GL Account numbers as needed
      • Enter/Match Purchasing invoices with PO numbers. Provide any invoices not received but due to Purchasing Department to Receive
      • Performs other duties as required and assigned by Manager, including schedule changes and travel to office locations as assigned
