What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Review clinical information from providers to ensure it meets Medical Necessity Criteria for service authorization
- Maintain knowledge of managed care contracting, clinical protocols, and compliance requirements for various payers
- Ensure accurate entry of information into claims systems for payment processing
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to facilitate patient care and service delivery
- Support the coordination of care for members with behavioral health and substance use issues
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Master's in Counseling, Master's in Social Work, or Marriage and Family Therapy
- Current license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Registered Nurse (RN) in Virginia
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in behavioral health
- At least 1 year of case management experience
- Experience with substance use disorders for a minimum of 1 year
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) certification is preferred but not required
- Experience working with managed care organizations or health plans
