- Work in a variety of programs including employment, community access and learning campuses, and take direction from specific program supervisor/manager to support program needs at the time of assignment
- Provide engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction to participants to help them achieve their goals
- Utilize appropriate modification techniques to respond to challenging behaviors and support behavioral plans to increase engagement
- Supervise and assist participants during volunteer activities, paid work, classes, and other community activities
- Responsible for travel training participants using public transportation and the safety and well-being of participants while out on community outings
- Maintain professional relationships and provide excellent customer service with external parties, families, care givers, and participants
- Complete dailies in a timely manner
- If in an employment setting, provide on-going training and supervision of trainees, model vocational skills, and participate in assigned work
- If in an employment setting, assist in the development of training programs to ensure work performance meets employer standards
- Provide flexible lunch and break time coverage as needed
- Drive agency vehicles as needed (transporting participants for outings and activities, etc.
- Other duties as assigned
- Recent enrollment in college curriculum aligned with AbilityPath programming
- Valid California Driver’s License/ID
- Clean Driving Record (if applicable)
- Proof of negative TB test results
- Verification of occupational physical clearance
- Pass a criminal fingerprint clearance
- 18 years of age or job permit clearance
- Proof of Covid-19 Vaccination + first booster
- Ability to physically respond to adults with developmental disabilities
- Ability to lift/support at least 40 lbs as needed
- Ability to sit, stand, stoop, and bend frequently
- Ability to walk for extended periods of time and support adults with developmental disabilities on community outings
- Ability to drive company vehicles to transport participants
- Ability to sit and keyboard as needed

Intern Instructors provide coverage for Adult and Employment programs. This position provides engaging, community and/or site-based instruction in support of high-quality participant services.
This is a great opportunity for students pursuing/interested in Psychology, Sociology, and Human Development, b ut we encourage all those passionate about working with the population to apply!
