      Job Title: Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP), Gynaecological Cancer Lead

      Hours per week 37.50 / 18 Months Fixed Term

      Salary ( £50,952- £57,349 Per Annum)

      This is a new post initially funded by the ICB for 18 months and is an exciting opportunity to transform Gynae Cancer care at George Eliot. A funding application will be submitted to make this post substantive.

      The post holder will be practising autonomously as an advanced clinical practitioner within the Gynaecology Cancer Service to provide patient-centred clinical care.

      It is desirable that the post holder will perform diagnostic colposcopy procedures, demonstrating advanced levels of clinical judgement, discretion and clinical decision making. If this post is made substantive training will be provided in post.

      Main duties of the job

      • Act as a clinical leader within the Gynaecology Cancer Service to provide a five day service working alongside the Gynaecology Oncology Lead.
      • Work autonomously an advanced practitioner within the speciality, managing a caseload of patient's delivering individualised direct patient care.
      • Appropriately treat patients, resulting in the safe management and appropriate referral or discharge of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed presentations.
      • Request and organise further investigations, receive results and interpret the findings
      • Participate in Multidisciplinary (MDT) clinics;, patient reviews and MDT meetings.
      • Provide relevant education and training for gynaecology nurses to ensure the proactive and compassionate management of all patients on cancer pathway.
      • Provide a seamless, high quality service from referral through to assessment, diagnosis, treatment and review, referring to other specialists as required. Provide guidance to staff, patients and their families and carers on pathway navigation.
      • Lead in the development and updating of referral guidelines and policies for the service.
      • Use highly developed communication skills to effectively communicate with colleagues, patients and their relatives/carers, making reports and liaising as required with medical staff and other members of the MDT both verbally and in writing.
