Job Description

- Set up and perform a normal range of operations on conventional and special purpose machines, turning machines, and various types of machine tools to repair aircraft parts.
- Use of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and the division of numbers including decimals fractions; simple use of formulas and specifications, where interpretation is required involving basic skill knowledge.
- Use of some judgment to comply with methods and instructions making minor decisions.
- Moderate physical demand frequently lifting or moving average weight material.
- Continuous mental and visual attention; usually repetitive work or diversified operations requiring constant alertness or activity.
- Good shop working conditions. Exposed to any number of elements, but none presents to the extent of being disagreeable.

- The specific EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE requirements of this position are:
- 2-3 years minimum machining experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to communicate, read, and write in English.
- Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to work effectively individually or as part of a team.
- Ability to speak and listen effectively to follow instructions in English. Ability to write and speak complete sentences and understand verbal and written instructions in English.
- Operate horizontal and manual vertical lathes, milling and grinding machines, VTL's, Jig Bores, Bridgeports, rubber grinding, Prototrack, drill presses and other special shop equipment for repair of parts.
- Work from process travelers, blueprints, parts drawings, manuals, specifications, and verbal directions to determine proper dimensions and tolerances of finished part sequence of operation, and setup requirements.
- Measure marks, and scribe dimensions and reference points on material.
- Perform all other similar or related duties as required and/or directed within own or other work areas.
