      We are hiring a Senior Venture Capital Investment Director to invest across the Materials to Systems™ stack in and collaborate with strategically aligned startups to transform disruptive possibilities into reality.


      Key Responsibilities

      • Source, Lead, and Own investment opportunities and the process to assess them and their value to AMAT/AV and to influence a group to do the same
      • Develop and execute overall investment strategies and implementation plans
      • Create and manage a balanced portfolio of investments
      • Actively manage investments through lifecycle and exit: Including elements of JDA’s and work within AMAT to achieve investment goals. This includes Board or Board-Observer position and the responsibilities associated with them
      • Present to AV and VIC (Venture Investment Committee)
      • Actively position AV in the startup community
      • Own individual investment decisions and recommendations made to the AV Global Head and the VIC

      Business Expertise

      • 15+ years of Venture Capital / Private Equity experience in the broader Deeptech sector with demonstrated and verifiable startup track-record is a must
      • Board experience (Director or Observer) is a must
      • Asia Investment experience is a plus
      • Experience as a technology startup entrepreneur is a plus
      • Experience at a top-tier VC, CVC, PE, Consulting firm is a plus
      • Fund-raising experience with top-tier Limited Partners is a plus

      Leadership

      • Manages associates/principals and acts as a mentor and role model to others within the organization

      Interpersonal Skills

      • Negotiates with startups, senior management, legal, investors, regulators or vendors to influence decisions
      • Exercises a high degree of autonomy when making decisions

      Education:

      Master's Degree: Business Administration, Master's or Ph.D. Degree: Materials Science and Engineering, Economics, Engineering, STEM fields

      Years of Experience: 15 Years+

      Work Experience: Venture Capital, Private Equity, Growth Capital, Top-Tier Management Consulting, Investment Banking, Technical Product Development, Business Development.

      Startup investing experience is required.

      The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on a number of factors including location and level and will vary depending on confirmed job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

      U.S. Salary Range:

      $188,000.00 - $258,500.00
