      American Leadership Academy is now accepting applications for an Art Teacher at the Ironwood High School Campus for the 2024-2025 school year. Candidates must possess a valid Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card.


      The Art Teacher position requires Content Knowledge proficiency from one of the following areas:

      • Teaching certificate with Art Endorsement
      • Minimum of three relevant years of teaching experience
      • 24 college credit hours in Art
      • Advanced degree in area
      • AEPA or NES Subject Knowledge exam
      • HQ Teacher Reciprocity
      • National Board Certified in area


      Job expectations include:

      • Design and develop art curriculum and course materials for Junior High and High School Art I Classes.
      • Cooperates with the district and school administration in providing art outreach programs to the community.
      • Helps to manage the inventory, storage and use of school owned art supplies, equipment, and materials
      • Deliver lectures to students on arts and its many forms and traditions.
      • Prepares effective lessons/rehearsals that reflect accommodations for individual student differentiation.
      • Plans and uses appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned.
      • Creates an environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
      • Regularly evaluates student performance.
      • Assists the theater and instrumental department with providing art work for scenery and set designs for concerts and shows.
      • Assists in arranging field trips for art classes.
      • Ensure that all school and district policies and procedures are adhered to.
      • Ensure a sustainable relationship with parents, school personnel, and members of the public.
      • Submit grades and attendance according to the procedures of the school.
      • Prepare classroom for instructions prior to the start of the school year.
