      Team Overview

      The Strategic Relationships team is responsible for Arrowstreet’s relationships with clients and consulting firms that retain Arrowstreet to manage assets for their OCIO services to underlying investors. The unit is a hybrid of relationship management, consultant relations, and business development efforts to service and grow these relationships as an integral partner. Strategic Relationships span from Australia/ New Zealand to North America to Europe, and comprise a meaningful share of Arrowstreet’s business and an even greater portion of its expected strategic growth

      Job Overview

      The Associate Director, Strategic Relationships role, based in Boston, will report to the Head of Strategic Relationships and be responsible for day-to-day management of client-related and new business development activities for assigned Strategic Relationships. In addition, the individual will be expected to develop and maintain strong relationships with a number of internal business constituents across the firm. The Associate Director must handle numerous tasks simultaneously while meeting critical deadlines. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and have the ability to prioritize and manage opportunities and projects independently, as well as manage and work in a team environment.

      Responsibilities

      • Independently develop and implement a strategic plan for managing and growing existing client relationships.

      • Identify opportunities to grow existing relationships and support the development of new strategic relationships.

      • Serve in a consultative role to the client/prospect, advising client top leadership on effective methods to achieve short and long-term strategic objectives.

      • Manage day-to-day elements of assigned relationships, including overseeing onboarding of new mandates and investors, negotiating investment management agreements/guidelines, and ad hoc requests.

      • Collaborate with functions across the firm like Portfolio Management, Investment Analytics, Legal & Compliance, and Client Operations to facilitate the provision of Arrowstreet investment services to clients.

      • Prepare for, host, and manage follow-ups from client, consultant, and prospect meetings, calls, and portfolio reviews.

      • Communicate and collaborate with Business Development Managers and Client Relationship Management colleagues to ensure consistency of message, standards, and practices.

      • Understand applicable internal systems and processes and their downstream impacts so as to appropriately direct client requests and set client expectations.

      Qualifications

      • Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, or Marketing. An MBA or other graduate degree in finance is a plus

      • 5 – 15 years of institutional client service, consultant relations, or business development experience

      • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills

      • Attention to detail, multi-tasking, problem solving, and an analytical approach to work

      • Experience in relationship management, strong verbal and written communications skills, and some experience with presentations a must.

      • Demonstrates individual ownership and accountability in the development of client, consultant and prospect relationships for client retention, client satisfaction and achievement of corporate strategic goals relative to book of business

      • Entrepreneurial enthusiasm, optimism
