The Hearing and Balance Service at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is looking for an enthusiastic Audiologist to join our Adult Rehabilitation and Diagnostics team. Based in our newly developed department at Seacroft Hospital, just outside Leeds city centre, the Hearing and Balance Service offers modern facilities and provides a comprehensive range of audiology services across multiple sites for patients of all ages. Our service includes adult diagnostics and rehabilitation, implantable hearing devices and vestibular assessment clinics.
You will hold a BSc in Audiology, BSc Healthcare Science (Audiology) or equivalent, and be registered, or in the process of registering, with Health and Care Professions Council, Registration Council for Clinical Physiologists or Academy for Healthcare Science.

Main duties of the job
As a Band 5 Audiologist within the Hearing and Balance Service at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, you will be part of the Adult Rehabilitation and Diagnostics team delivering high-quality audiology care to adult patients. Working alongside experienced Audiologists, Associate Practitioners and administrative staff, you will contribute to a busy clinical service supporting patients with hearing difficulties.
Your role will include undertaking a range of adult audiology assessments, providing hearing aid fittings and follow-up care, and supporting patients through their hearing rehabilitation journey. You will manage your own clinical caseload while working collaboratively within the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, effective and patient-centred care.
The service operates across ten sites, with the main base at Seacroft Hospital. This provides a varied and engaging working week, with opportunities to work in a range of clinic environments as well as supporting domiciliary services for patients who are unable to attend clinic appointments.
You will be supported by senior clinicians and have opportunities to contribute to service development, training and quality improvement initiatives while developing a broad range of clinical skills within a large and innovative NHS audiology service.

The role combines routine and non-routine tasks, providing a dynamic and engaging working week across multiple clinical sites, including community clinics (Ear, Nose and Throat and Adult Hearing Aid Aftercare) and domiciliary visits.
You will manage your own clinical caseload, provide hearing assessments, hearing aid fittings, hearing aid repair and maintenance and rehabilitation, and give support to junior staff and trainees. You will develop sub-specialist skills, such as basic tinnitus advice, and contribute to service improvement projects. You will be required to participate in training and education programmes, including trust mandatory training, all within a supportive, collaborative team culture.
The role requires proficiency with audiology systems such as Practice Navigator or Auditbase, experience using hearing aid software, audiometry, tympanometry, and Real Ear Measurement equipment, and competence in standard IT systems such as Word, PowerPoint and Excel. You will work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, following policies and procedures relevant to your specialist area, department, and the Trust, and embodying the Leeds Way values and behaviours.
You will contribute to aspects of service management, including performance monitoring, health and safety, stock control, monitoring and ordering processes, and ensuring patient safety and safeguarding standards are maintained. You will act as a positive role model for junior staff while gaining exposure to service workflows and departmental projects.
