      Job summary

      An exciting opportunity has arisen within Kingston Hospital Foundation Trust, for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Band 6 Occupational. The rotations are for 9 months and include.

      Admission avoidance in A&E and Acute Assessment Unit (including Frailty)

      ICU/Critical Care

      Cardiac medicine

      Respiratory medicine

      Care of the elderly

      Orthopaedics

      Surgery"

      There are also opportunities to work with a neuro outlying population in your services.

      Main duties of the job

      The successful candidate will join a team passionate about lifelong learning and career mapping. You will receive regular supervision and participate in a new senior CPD teaching program. You will also support a junior teaching program, have a yearly performance appraisal and where linked to your appraisal and career mapping you will be supported to seek funding for external formal courses. You will be supported by an experienced highly specialist team lead and operational lead and will have opportunities to develop your own supervision skills with staff and students.

      You will work collaboratively within integrated specialist therapy teams to provide holistic, patient-centered occupational therapy that empowers patients to achieve their goals.

      You will be joining a department that is embracing change to ensure practice is in line with current evidence-based practice, national and local polices, and within the scope of professional standards of practice. There will be opportunities to contribute to the development and evaluation of the occupational therapy service.

      The successful applicant will also be expected to contribute on a voluntary self rostered basis to the weekend and bank holiday rota.

      We would consider part time, job sharing and flexible working.

      Educational

      Essential

      • Diploma/degree in Occupational Therapy
      • HCPC registration

      Desirable

      • Fieldwork educators course
      • Recruitment & Selection Training

      Experience

      Essential

      • Minimum of 18 months post-qualification experience, of which at least 6 months must have been in an acute setting.
      • Minimum 1 year of previous NHS experience, either as a qualified Occupational Therapist (substantive or agency) or as an undergraduate Occupational Therapy student.
      • Evidence of continuing professional development including reflective practice and participation in learning relevant to clinical field of interest.
      • Evidence of working within a multidisciplinary and/or occupational therapy team
      • Experience of working in any of the following clinical areas: oElderly Care oGeneral Medicine oOrthopaedics oStroke oFrailty

      Desirable

      • Experience of working in a community health or social care settings
