If so, we invite you to apply for this Band 8a Senior Practitioner Psychologist post in our Steps to Recovery inpatient mental health rehabilitation services.
Birmingham and Solihull Mental HealthNHSFoundation Trust has seven Steps to Recovery units, offering a range of specialist rehabilitation services. This post is based at Endeavour Court, a High Dependency Unit (HDU) for men in Erdington, Birmingham. The post holder will join the team there in supporting service users experiencing complex psychosis or bipolar disorder in their recovery. They will also be warmly welcomed into a well-established and supportive group of psychological practitioners working across Steps to Recovery and Assertive Outreach, including the previous Endeavour Court post holder who has gained promotion within our service.
Individuals at Band 8a or with suitable experience and eligible for this banding will be considered. The post is part time (0.8wte) but additional hours may be available in the Trust, with another team or via bank work in psychological services.
Main duties of the job
The Endeavour Court HDU inpatient rehabilitation team uses a person-centred and well coordinated approach. The post holder will have opportunities to develop skills in specialist assessment, shared formulation, and application of evidence-based psychological interventions to help service users work towards their recovery goals.
Experience of working in multidisciplinary teams and with clients from culturally and socially diverse communities who have a range of mental health needs is desirable, as is the motivation to support positive risk taking so service users can lead as autonomous and valued a life as possible. We also support team members to build their knowledge, skills, and confidence by delivering a programme of training, supervision, and reflective practice, to which the post holder will contribute.

We have access to a comprehensive CPD programme, including leadership development, and provide strong professional supervision, offering a range of clinical models, training, and accreditation opportunities.
