Beaker Application Analyst - Laboratory Information Systems

- Req#: JR2023-1904
- Provides application implementation support, technical guidance, and serves as primary resolution point for all issues regarding assigned applications. May include, but not limited to Beaker, Sunquest Blood Bank.
- Develops and monitors testing scenarios and methodologies to demonstrate system effectiveness. Prepares and maintains documentation on testing plans.
- Responsible for test build/maintenance within Beaker and Sunquest Blood Bank.
- Works in conjunction with the LIS Manager in preparing, reviewing and revising LIS procedures and policies. Maintains and compiles CAP and other accreditation agencies standards. Performs related tasks to remain in compliance with CAP, JCAHO, AABB, and HIPPA regulations.
- Monitors instrument interface statuses, system processor(s), and hospital system interfaces. May act as a resource to department managers for middleware issues related to Sunquest and Beaker Lab system.
- Performs job functions adhering to service principles with customer service focus of innovation, service excellence and teamwork to provide the highest quality care and service to our patients, families, co-workers and others.
- Position will be primarily remote though there will be needs on occasion to visit the hospital and/or clinics for support.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or Health Care field with related training is required.
- Minimum five years of experience installing/supporting applications laboratory systems (Beaker, Sunquest Blood Bank).
- Knowledge of HL7 and troubleshooting interfaces (instruments, HIS) preferred.
- Laboratory experience, especially in the area of Microbiology and Blood Bank preferred.
- Beaker AP/CP certification required
- For Epic applications ability to complete certification or accreditation as identified by LIS Manager within six months of enrolling in the first class.
- Excellent project management skills. Ability to prepare documentation to support established objectives consistent with generally recognized standards.
