What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Verify patient prescription benefits, including medical and pharmacy coverage, to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement
- Investigate authorization requirements for medications and ancillary supplies, collaborating with healthcare providers and insurance companies
- Determine patient eligibility for copay card assistance programs based on criteria and facilitate enrollment
- Provide thorough, accurate, and timely responses to benefit investigation requests
- Perform all Benefit Investigation functions with knowledge of pharmacy processes
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or GED, or licensed/registered pharmacy technician, or previous experience in pharmacy
- Minimum of 1 year of pharmacy experience
- Knowledge of pharmacy terminology, including sig codes, Roman numerals, and brand/generic names of medications
- Basic math and analytical skills
- Intermediate typing and keyboard skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Previous experience in a healthcare-related position
- Familiarity with insurance verification processes
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
