      BOH Prep Cook & FOH Support

      Hourly Wage

      ISS offers full-time employees a variety of benefits including medical, dental, life and disability insurance, as well as a comprehensive leave program based on employment status. The hourly pay range for this position is $ 22 - $23.

      Work Hours

      The work hours for this position are Monday – Friday, 6:00 am – 2:30 pm.

      Key Purpose

      This role will be supporting both Back of House and Front of House Operations. As the Prep Cook , you will be responsible for p roduc ing visually appealing and good tasting foods to Guckenheimer standards. You will p repare, season, and cook soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, or other products as under the direction of the Cook, or Chef , and well as serving customers during meal periods. The Front of House role will support the Catering department, be a Delivery Drive as needed, and a back- up Cashier during peak service hours.

      Ideal Candidate Experience

      • Must be able to use standard kitchen equipment correctly and safely . Chefs' knives; Convection ovens; Rotating rack ovens; Meat and cheese slicing machines, steamers, mandolins, grills and broilers.
      • Knowledge of HACCP practices for handling dishware and food deliveries
      • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for food preparation.
      • Ability to coordinate work with and follow the direction of the chef or cook.
      • Use of food cost control methods.
      • Possess ServSafe certification or City/State Food Handler Card
      • Valid state driver’s license
      • Must be 18 or older
      • Clean and safe DMV driving record

      Key Accountabilities

      • Season and cook food according to recipes and experience.
      • Observe and test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently, taking temperatures. Adjust seasoning to customer tastes.
      • Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes, using various kitchen utensils and equipment.
      • Portion, arrange, and garnish food, and serve food to patrons.
      • Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
      • Substitute for or assist other cooks during emergencies or rush periods.
      • Perform daily, on-time deliveries
      • Follow all safety rules and actively prevent accidents.
      • Commitment to the service values and ethics of the client company.
      • Must comply with all ServSafe and HACCP programs and principles.
      • Performs other duties as assigned

      Physical Demands & Work Environment

      • Work up to 8 hours a day on your feet, excluding breaks.
      • Must be able to lift a minimum of 25lbs.
      • Come to work properly dressed according to the dress code.
      • Employee must be able to work under pressure and time deadlines during peak periods.
      • Job requires delivery of hot and cold food to on campus sites using carts and vans.
