  JOB SUMMARY

  The Painter operates, maintains and performs preventive maintenance along with urgent corrective and routine repairs on all mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic, HVAC equipment and the physical environment throughout the campus and as outlined in the current MSA and in accordance with the Local 399 CBA.

  This position requires at least 5 years professional painting experience and the ability to join Local 399 upon hire.

  The shift for this position will be Sunday - Thursday 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

  Target pay - $33.68. /hr

  ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Reports in proper working uniform at the beginning of shift to the Assistant Chief Engineer for duty assignments
  • The Building Engineer uses Corrigo (CMMS) to manage workload and assigned work orders
  • Operates and performs preventive, corrective and emergency maintenance on all building equipment that the facilities department is responsible for maintaining
  • Must be capable of troubleshooting all equipment malfunctions and make the corrective repairs or replacements as necessary, and complete the required documentation via Corrigo
  • Must understand and use appropriate lock out/tag out system and tools
  • Responds immediately to all Emergency Operations pages or calls and acts as the first responder to all customer calls, resolves the problem, or notifies the correct person to resolve the problem, and then communicates actions to customer
  • Manages and edits the dashboard on a frequent basis for all work orders in the Corrigo work order system, to ensure timely closing of work orders prior to the end of shift
  • Performs additional duties as requested by an Assistant Chief, Chief or Management

  • Completes all assigned training within designated timeframe
  • Other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the buildings

  QUALIFICATIONS

  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each

  essential duty satisfactorily as outlined in the CBA as well as JLL requirements especially regarding safe work practices.

  EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Minimum of 3 years related engineering experience desired
  • Minimum of 5 years professional painting experience required
  • Must have proficient knowledge in plumbing, mechanical repairs and
  • maintenance and building operations
  • Ability to perform at a journeyman level all duties for Building Engineer in accordance with the Building Engineer Job Description and all requirements outlined in the CBA

  COMMUNICATION SKILLS

  • Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence using email and/or Corrigo
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisor

  OTHER SKILLS and/or ABILITIES

  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite including the ability to access, read and act on emails, online training and use of Corrigo
  • Knowledge of current TJC and IDPH regulations

  PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • This job requires extensive standing and walking during the workday
  • Must be able to stoop, crouch, and kneel while performing tasks in cramped, difficult areas
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
  • Must be able to safely climb and balance on ladders when performing tasks in or at the ceiling
