      Hanson Professional Services is seeking a candidate to fill a Power Market - Business Development position in Florida. Successful applicant would join a very dynamic and employee-oriented organization within the Power Market Practice. This position will ultimately be responsible for exhibiting Hanson’s Vision, Mission, and Values while interacting with potential clients, partners, agencies, and fellow colleagues.

      A Day in the Life of a Business Development at Hanson

      Here’s a snapshot of what you would do in this role:

      • Directly responsible for business development and customer relationship management, as well as providing organization, leadership, communication, and financial and risk management input for projects.

      • Responsible for the development of sales and earnings goals through implementation of a tactical plan that provides business development opportunities that are consistent with our current and future strategic plans.

      • Identify, prioritize and execute tasks to meet critical project deadlines with minimal supervision. Manage transactions with customers to meet revenue goals including measurable contact with existing customers, prospects and industry affiliates.

      • Present a professional corporate image as a representative of Hanson Professional Services in the execution of marketing and sales presentations and events.

      • Research, analyze and monitor markets, industry demographics and competitive factors to create and capitalize on new revenue opportunities.

      • Specific duties would also include: keeping BD/Sales statistics; providing a full understanding of both political and technical aspects of market pursuits; conducting client visits as directed by the market principal and regional managers; assist in writing and preparing project proposals; prepping market staff for sales presentations; providing input on social media programs; and facilitate and provide support for scheduled Power Market BD meetings.

      What We’re Looking For

      We feel the following qualifications would set you up for success in this role:

      • Position requires a bachelor's degree in a science or business curriculum.

      • A minimum of 10 years of senior management or business development management experience with increasing responsibility.

      • Previous project management experience, staff management experience, and business development experience.

      • Demonstration of the personal traits that would allow them to manage diverse project teams, have the ability to interact well with clients, be self-motivated, and possess good interpersonal communication skills. Applicant must possess a valid driver’s license and be proficient in the use of business desktop applications, e.g. Microsoft Office Suite.

      • Willing to accept out-of-town travel assignments and to work reasonable overtime to meet project demands.

      Applicant Pluses would include:

      • Experience working directly for a Florida utility company.

      • An advanced degree in Science, Management, or Business.

      • Experience in planning and delivering electric transmission, fossil fuel, and/or renewable power projects.

      • An understanding of power industry regulating agencies, rules, and regulations.

      • Demonstrated ability to manage teams and to work in a seller/doer role.
