      THE JOB:

      As a Captain at Gymkhana, you will be the driving force behind our front-of-house operations, ensuring that every aspect of service aligns with our high standards and vibrant atmosphere. Your primary responsibility is to manage the dining experience from start to finish, directing and implementing a service philosophy that prioritizes 100% guest satisfaction. In this pivotal role, you will lead by example, guiding your team to deliver engaging and attentive service that reflects the rich traditions of Indian cuisine. You'll set the tone for a welcoming environment—exciting guests as they explore our diverse menu featuring tandoor-grilled specialties, fragrant biryanis, and innovative chaat-style sharing plates. As a Captain, your expertise and passion for hospitality will inspire your team to create memorable dining moments for every guest, from the first greeting to the final farewell. You’ll ensure that every table thrives with energy and enjoyment, all while upholding the exceptional standards that define Gymkhana.


      THE STARTING RATE: $15.4742 Hourly + Tips

      THE DAY-TO-DAY:

      • Meet with Chef and Stewarding to review scheduled group's menu and equipment requirements

      • Ensure agreement of delivery times, amounts and special arrangements

      • Train and direct wait staff; prepare and adjust weekly work schedules in accordance with staffing guidelines and labor forecasts

      • Monitor staff performance and appearance in all phases of service and job function, ensure procedures are carried out to departmental standards, rectify deficiencies with respective personnel

      • Anticipate guest needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, and maintain positive guest relations

      • Knowledgeable of correct maintenance and use of equipment, requisition new equipment to replace those not up to standard and maintain enough equipment to service our functions as well as establish par levels for supplies and equipment

      • Knowledgeable of service requirements for menu selection, major ingredients, appearance, texture, quality standard, garnish and method of presentation

      • Check storage areas for proper supplies, organization and cleanliness; instruct designated personnel to rectify any cleanliness/organization deficiencies

      • Inspect the scheduled function areas/rooms for cleanliness, working condition and proper furniture/equipment set up, rectify any deficiencies with respective departments


      THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

      • 2+ Years of prior relevant experience in banquet and/or catering required

      • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required

      • Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays required

      • Must be 21 years of age or older
