      Job Description

      The Category Manager, Fashion & Living for Greater China is responsible for developing and executing a long-term business strategy for the category of Fashion and Living that leverages the richness of NBCUniversal’s entertainment content to build a sustainable business that achieves annual revenue targets.

      As part of the China Consumer Products team, the Category Manager, you will be responsible for growing the Consumer Products business in line with divisional strategies and guidelines while leveraging a strong knowledge of the local markets’ individual needs and opportunities. You will be responsible for identifying the best licensees to partner with, driving innovative and quality product ranges, providing valuable input and local executional support to key partners while monitoring partner ‘s business performance as well as managing daily works in high quality and efficiency.

      Strategy:

      • Set and execute a long-term business development strategy for categories in charge that considers China opportunities and specificities.

      Financial Knowledge:

      • Manage the Fashion & Living P&L to deliver (or exceed) annual revenue targets. Monitor partner ‘s business performance at daily basis. Handle work in high quality and provide meaningful solution all the time. Highlight any upsides or sensitivities.

      Category Management:

      • Develop a clear growth strategy for categories in charge (including financial targets) and benchmark progress.
      • Identify opportunities and fill gaps by product sub-category, age segment, market channel and franchise.
      • Partner with team to drive quality and champion innovation in local product development. set up local relevant marketing & sales execution
      • Work closely with other team members to deliver good result all the time

      Licensee Management:

      • Responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of licensees to grow the CP business. Critically evaluate the licensee base to ensure we have the right amount and best quality partners.
      • Direct management of key Global & Local licensees.
      • Negotiate the best deals (in line with CP guidelines and business objectives) and manage the process from contract to product development and on shelf execution. Provide input into key deals to ensure local needs are met CP strategy and target.
      • Ongoing communication with key partners & retailers or relevant platforms to link with industry and leverage resources for business development.

      Franchise Development:

      • Develop a clear franchise growth plan for your markets for all the core properties and identify market-& category specific opportunities
      • Brief additional creative assets where required to meet market needs

      Retail Development:

      • Work with the retail team to identify the key retail partners for your category and market. Develop relationships with the decision makers at your Key Accounts.
      • Understand key seasonality and support local franchise & retail initiatives.

      Qualifications

      Basic Requirements:

      • At least 8 years of working experience on licensing industry/brand marketing/merchandise department in a major multi-national fashion/living company or an advertising/marketing agency, preferably with B2B sales experiences
      • Strategic thinker, able to communicate a compelling vision for the business
      • Substantial experience in international licensing and brand merchandising within the country.
      • Existing network of strong relationships with licensees, branded partners, platform operators and retailers within the territory
      • Background in building brands across various channels of distribution
      • Proven track record in delivering growth and solid analytical/financial skills
      • Proven ability in pitching and negotiating skills to close deals successfully
      • Able to customize / create sales presentations and other materials as needed
      • Able to think strategically about the changing marketplace & consumer shopping patterns
      • Excellent communication capabilities in English and Mandarin with all kinds of stakeholders
      • Able to travel as business required

      • Ambassador of the business with sufficient stature internally and externally. Knowledgeable about the business to represent the company in a positive manner
