      The Central Staffing Resources Unit offers a unique opportunity for experienced CNAs to expand their knowledge base and sharpen their skill set. A CNA in this position is given the opportunity to train on an array of units at Waldo County General Hospital. The assortment of floors and units a CNA could potentially be assigned to will provide an opportunity to practice in various clinical areas throughout the hospital. Candidates applying to Central Staffing Resources must possess the ability to think quickly on their feet, remarkable adaptability and critical thinking expertise. The CNA will have one year of experience in an acute care setting to allow flexibility to transition between departments including but not limited to medical-surgical, critical care, and emergency.

      For a limited time MaineHealth is offering sign on bonuses for Certified Nursing Assistants:

      • 0-1 years of experience eligible for $2,500 (full time)
      • 1+ years of experience eligible for $4,000 (full time)
      • Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time CNA position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.
      • Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.
      Position Summary This position consists of 36 hours per week, day shifts.
      • Assists in providing age-specific, pediatric through geriatric, patient centered care in accordance with respective unit based protocols. Under the direct supervision of the RN, the CNA performs specific delegated tasks as they relate to ADLs and the promotion of outcome based patient centered care in a variety of settings. The CNA will be flexible and available to work in assigned units as needed serving primarily adult and geriatric acute and critical care patients.

        Under the direction of an RN, functions as a team member by performing delegated patient care activities and related non- professional services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients. Performs a variety of tasks including cleaning of care areas, stocking and disposal of linen and materials supply to ensure assigned areas are kept clean and adequately supplied.

      • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
        • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
        • License/Certifications: Graduate of an accredited CNA program. BLS Certified. Certification in Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), Management of Aggressive Behaviors (MOAB), or Dementia Care preferred.
        • Experience: Minimum one year experience in an acute care setting.
        • In good standing on the Maine State CNA Registry
        • Demonstrates the ability to effectively interact with multiple and diverse patient populations.
        • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary for interacting with patients, physicians, supervisors and other staff
        • Skill in time management, problem solving, multitasking, prioritizing and patient care coordination
        • Ability to maintain professional manner even under stressful situations
        • Demonstrates competency with multiple computer applications.
