      Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000

      State Farm Stadium

      Completed in August of 2006, State Farm Stadium has set the standard in multi-purpose NFL Facilities. The stadium is home to a variety of different events including Arizona Cardinals home games, the annual Fiesta Bowl, international soccer matches, motorsports, trade & consumer shows, and corporate & social functions.

      Designed with a roll-out natural grass field and retractable roof, the first of its kind in North America, the stadium is capable of converting from a sports facility to a multi-functional event space allowing it to host numerous event types in air-conditioned comfort.

      About the Position

      ASM Global, is seeking to hire a Chief Engineer at State Farm Stadium. The Chief Engineer is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the State Farm Stadium Engineering Department. This includes oversight of skilled tradesmen and general facility maintenance technician. This role will ensure work orders are completed, inventory levels are maintained, and performing proactive building walk throughs to identify potential building improvements. Additionally, the Chief Engineer will be responsible for creating, documenting, and implementing safety and efficiency protocols, standard operating procedures, and written safety programs. Finally, the Chief Engineer shall develop and execute standardized training methods to ensure entry level facility maintenance technicians are learning and growing

      Essential Duties and Responsibilities
      • Direct, supervise and schedule all aspects of plant maintenance and engineering, ensure proper operation of all systems including, but not limited to; chillers, boilers, building automation systems, electrical systems and plumbing.
      • Develop operating procedures and maintenance programs that conform to manufacturer’s recommendations for systems and equipment, and corporate standards, which are customized to the specific needs of the facility and consistent with the goals and objectives of the client, facility and event requirements.
      • Assist in the development and implementation of both short term and long-term capital improvement programs.
      • Supervise, coach, train, and develop the facility maintenance technicians holding them accountable both as a team and individual team members.
      • Assist in the preparation of the annual operating budget. Recommend and/or authorize the requisition of equipment and supplies within budget guidelines.
      • Be knowledgeable of, and implement operating and maintenance policies and procedures consistent with all applicable laws, codes, ordinances, policies, procedures, risk management, safety precautions, rules/regulations and emergency procedures.
      • Investigate, analyze and resolve operational problems and complaints. Conduct periodic staff meetings to discuss procedures, problems, and policy changes.
      • Assist in the preparation and negotiation of Service Agreements. Review contracts for compliance with event and/or government specifications and suitability for occupancy.
      • Act as liaison with, tenants, facility contractors and/or service providers as needed.
      • Plan, budget and schedule facility’s modifications including cost estimates, bid proposals, layouts and contracts for construction and conversions.
      • Inspect and monitor systems and equipment, new construction projects, and/or the installation of equipment to ensure conformance to established plans and specifications.
      • Inspect operating function to evaluate efficiency methods, and investigate, analyze and resolve operational and maintenance problems. Develop, implement, monitor and maintain the preventative maintenance program.
      • Assist in ensuring facility’s fire and emergency safety systems are in operating order and compliant with all codes, ordinances and laws.
      Assist in developing and implementing energy saving programs and procedures.
      • Provide clear, concise, and timely communication of directives to other departments.
      • Maintain regular inventory of all equipment and supplies.
      • Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays, as needed.
      • Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

      Qualifications
      •Applicant shall have appropriate combination of experience, knowledge, expertise, and qualified credentials

      • Must possess a thorough understanding of the methods, techniques and procedures necessary to repair and maintain central plant systems.
      • Possess a thorough understanding and experience in the development, implementation and use of preventative maintenance software.
      • Possess skill and experience in purchasing procedures and supervising/training personnel.
      • Engage in decision-making that is generally governed by procedure and guided by policy.
      • Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, tenants, employees, exhibitors, patrons and others encountered in the course of employment.
      • Read and comprehend blueprints, drawings and other related materials.
      • Operate a personal computer using Windows, Word, Excel and other standard office equipment.
      • Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.
      • Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines. Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results.
      • Work independently, exercising judgment and initiative.
      • Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.
      • Knowledge and experience in bidding and negotiating agreements and contracts for maintenance services, utility services and equipment purchases.
      • Be licensed and insured to operate a motor vehicle in Arizona

      Education and/or Experience

      • Minimum five (5) years supervisory role in responsible management and operational capacity in the industrial or commercial maintenance and repair of industrial or commercial facilities. Experience in the operation of a public assembly, hotel or other commercial facility is preferred. Minimum of three years of Building Automation System operating experience.
      • A Minimum of 5 years of full-time work-related experience in the public assembly, or hospitality industry preferred
      • Formal education in Mechanical and/or Electrical or Building Construction is desired.
      • CFM or FMP through IFMA is preferred
      • Possess any additional licenses, certificates or training required by local, state or national authorities for the operations of the equipment found in the facility.
      • OSHA 30 card a plus

      Skills and Abilities

      • Ability to utilizing the Microsoft office package to generate reports and presentations
      • Ability to oversee several different trade aspects simultaneously including HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical and Carpentry
      • Provide technical oversight on repairs, large projects, and daily operations for Building Engineers and Facility Maintenance Technicians
      • Engage with subcontractors to ensure maximum efficiency, safety, and competitive pricing
      • Develop and execute request for quote and other competitive bid processes
