Job Description
- Req#: 24057
- Support project team in development of design documentation, plans, and reports for project design elements.
- Prepare documentation required for land development permitting through local, state and federal jurisdictions.
- Perform quality reviews for documents in various project phases including construction plans, reviewing agency submittal packages, and engineering calculation reports.
- Assist in preparing engineering calculation reports including but not limited to: stormwater design, potable water design and sanitary sewer design.
- Attend project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants.
- Take sufficient notes at all meetings in order to organize efforts and follow through with requested deliverables.
- Coordinate and keep consistent communication within a multi-discipline team.
- Assist in the review of shop drawings and submittals, responds to request for information, prepares site observation reports, and performs other construction administration tasks.
- Assist in the evaluation and selection of civil systems and materials.
- Participate in value engineering and basic cost estimating.
- Perform calculations to analyze and design civil system components using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
- Ready to step in and assist with any of design teams tasks in order to produce quality deliverables and complete projects on schedule.

Self-starter with diligent work ethic and strong attention to detail

EI License not required, but desire to acquire EI license and PE license is preferred

Effective communication skills and ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought

Ability to visualize three-dimensional concepts and layouts from diagrams or drawings

Takes initiative on tasks and in coordinating with other members of the design team

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and willingness to learn relevant software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, AdlCPR, StormCAD, WaterCAD, etc.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. EI License not required, but desire to acquire EI license and PE license is preferred.
- 3+ years experience in civil engineering design.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

The role of a Civil Engineer is to work as a team member on civil/site development projects. You will work closely with a Project Engineer and Project Manager on land development permitting and site design. You will perform a variety of tasks which may include production, calculations, and field work.
