  Your Opportunity
  The role of a Civil Engineer is to work as a team member on civil/site development projects. You will work closely with a Project Engineer and Project Manager on land development permitting and site design. You will perform a variety of tasks which may include production, calculations, and field work.   Your Key Responsibilities
  • Support project team in development of design documentation, plans, and reports for project design elements.
  • Prepare documentation required for land development permitting through local, state and federal jurisdictions.
  • Perform quality reviews for documents in various project phases including construction plans, reviewing agency submittal packages, and engineering calculation reports.
  • Assist in preparing engineering calculation reports including but not limited to: stormwater design, potable water design and sanitary sewer design.
  • Attend project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants.
  • Take sufficient notes at all meetings in order to organize efforts and follow through with requested deliverables.
  • Coordinate and keep consistent communication within a multi-discipline team.
  • Assist in the review of shop drawings and submittals, responds to request for information, prepares site observation reports, and performs other construction administration tasks.
  • Assist in the evaluation and selection of civil systems and materials.
  • Participate in value engineering and basic cost estimating.
  • Perform calculations to analyze and design civil system components using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
  • Ready to step in and assist with any of design teams tasks in order to produce quality deliverables and complete projects on schedule.
  Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Self-starter with diligent work ethic and strong attention to detail

  • EI License not required, but desire to acquire EI license and PE license is preferred

  • Effective communication skills and ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought

  • Ability to visualize three-dimensional concepts and layouts from diagrams or drawings

  • Takes initiative on tasks and in coordinating with other members of the design team

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and willingness to learn relevant software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, AdlCPR, StormCAD, WaterCAD, etc.
  Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. EI License not required, but desire to acquire EI license and PE license is preferred.
  • 3+ years experience in civil engineering design.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  Typical day will include work in an office environment as part of a design team. Occasional field visits onsite including active construction sites.
