      The Clean Team Specialist drives a vehicle with a trailer in tow and is responsible for manually picking up trash, rubbish and miscellaneous items on City right-of-way, streets, alleys, ditches, and other areas as assigned. The Clean Team Specialist works in an independent environment with semi-broad latitude to proactively remove trash, rubbish, and miscellaneous items from City right of ways with the purpose of beautification and image enhancement. This role will require the safe operation of City vehicles and equipment and the primary function will include manual labor. A goal-oriented mind-set is critical to the success of an employee in this role.

      • Survey work zones proactively to respond to issues, complaints, and work orders quickly. Drive a vehicle with a trailer in tow, responsible for manually picking up and removing trash, rubbish and miscellaneous items from City right of ways, streets, alleys, ditches, and other areas as directed.
      • Maintenance of city property and right of ways. Mowing, trimming, weed eating, sweeping, picking up trash, cleaning, and all landscaping maintenance.
      • Operates and maintains Clean Team equipment by checking oil and gas every morning and ensuring that trailer, mowers and hand-held equipment are in safe and proper working order.
      • Performs all other duties as assigned.

      Required:

      • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
      • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record (must obtain TX driver’s license within 90 days).
      • Valid State of Texas Class B Commercial Driver’s License, or must be obtained within six months from date in position.
      • Six months related experience.

      Ability to safely drive and operate a vehicle, load, and unload a trailer, and maintain all equipment used in Clean Team operations. Effective communication and the ability to get along appropriately with co-workers and the public. Be accountable, dependable, proactive, and a self-starter with good decision-making skills. Ability to work in an independent setting with minimal oversight. Knowledge of city streets and Right of Ways.

In the event of an evacuation, the incumbent in this position may be required to remain to perform needed services.

      Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
