UNTIL FILLED - Clerk, Accounting PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Provide clerical and accounting services to support the transportation department.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
High School Diploma or GED
Valid Texas commercial driver’s license (Class B) with “P” and “S” endorsements, preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of basic bookkeeping and accounting procedures
Strong mathematical skills with the ability to perform highly accurate calculations
Strong organizational, verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
Proficient typing, keyboarding, and file maintenance skills
Ability to use calculator (10-key by touch)
Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets, databases and do word processing
Experience:
At least three years’ experience in accounts payable environment
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals
Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Motion: Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching
Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; occasional districtwide travel
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
