Job Description

- Undertaking a variety of administrative duties including the provision of secretarial and clerical support to clinical staff and other members of the practice team.
- Data entry, read coding and summarising of relevant patient information and medical data into the clinical system.
- Scanning patient information into computerised records, including medical documents, hospital records and letters, as necessary.
- Allocating workflow for review by doctors or other health professionals.
- Type letters, reports and clinical correspondence accurately and within agreed timescales
- Process referrals using the electronic referral system (ERS), SystmOne and DXS
- Liaise with hospitals, community services and external agencies
- Processing practice post and emails.
- Registering new patients.
- Accurately code clinical information using SNOMED CT
- Ensure data quality to support audits, reporting, patient safety and QOF
- Ensure the recall systems in place are dealt with in a timely manner, and communications are sent to patients when due
- Handling enquiries efficiently.

- Ability to communicate effectively, working in a confidential and discreet manner.
- Ability to multi-task, work efficiently and maintain a high level of attention to detail, when under pressure.
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, as well as independently.
- Some flexibility is required as you will sometimes need to work additional or alternative hours to cover for colleagues. All applicants should ensure that they live within reasonable commuting distance.
- Previous experience of secretarial and summarising work within a healthcare environment is desirable

Job summary
Mount Farm Surgery has an opportunity for a clinical admin clerk to join our busy practice support team and assist in the smooth delivery of excellent patient care. This role is offered on a part-time basis for a minimum 30 hours per week, however this is negotiable up to full-time (37 hours per week) for the right candidate.
