      Job summary

      Mount Farm Surgery has an opportunity for a clinical admin clerk to join our busy practice support team and assist in the smooth delivery of excellent patient care. This role is offered on a part-time basis for a minimum 30 hours per week, however this is negotiable up to full-time (37 hours per week) for the right candidate.

      Main duties of the job

      • Undertaking a variety of administrative duties including the provision of secretarial and clerical support to clinical staff and other members of the practice team.
      • Data entry, read coding and summarising of relevant patient information and medical data into the clinical system.
      • Scanning patient information into computerised records, including medical documents, hospital records and letters, as necessary.
      • Allocating workflow for review by doctors or other health professionals.
      • Type letters, reports and clinical correspondence accurately and within agreed timescales
      • Process referrals using the electronic referral system (ERS), SystmOne and DXS
      • Liaise with hospitals, community services and external agencies
      • Processing practice post and emails.
      • Registering new patients.
      • Accurately code clinical information using SNOMED CT
      • Ensure data quality to support audits, reporting, patient safety and QOF
      • Ensure the recall systems in place are dealt with in a timely manner, and communications are sent to patients when due
      • Handling enquiries efficiently.

      • Ability to communicate effectively, working in a confidential and discreet manner.
      • Ability to multi-task, work efficiently and maintain a high level of attention to detail, when under pressure.
      • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, as well as independently.
      • Some flexibility is required as you will sometimes need to work additional or alternative hours to cover for colleagues. All applicants should ensure that they live within reasonable commuting distance.
