      HMP Belmarsh are looking for a Clinical Psychologist to support the IMHT with assessment and interventions for complex patients, offer consultation/reflective practice to the team and clinical supervision to the assistant psychologists. The direct clinical work includes undertaking psychological assessments, supporting complex multi-disciplinary formulations and delivering psychological interventions for cases of great complexity. You will also be required to utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within the area served by the team/service. You will support the integrated mental health team in the overall development of the availability of evidence based therapies.

It adopts the premise no single health/wellbeing factor can be taken in isolation of other motivational issues which might impact a persons care.

      Main duties of the job

      The successful candidate will be expected to have a broad understanding of trauma and its impact not only on service users but also staff and the organization as a whole. As the proposed model is psychologically and trauma informed, it is essential that the post holder has the necessary clinical skills and experience to support senior staff and the organisational skills to engage and work with other stakeholders within the complex environment of a prison.

      Youll receive an annual salary up to 55,000 per annum - dependent on experience.       Practice Plus Group is a specialist provider of NHS services into prison healthcare across over 45 different prisons, young offenders and immigration removal centres.       HMP Belmarsh is a Category A mens prison with an operational capacity of over 910 inmates and is located in South East London. The site houses a High Security Unit (HSU) and is regarded as the most secure prison unit in the United Kingdom
