What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Investigate and coordinate responses to internal and external inquiries regarding potential breaches of PHI or HIPAA violations
- Enter and update all reported concerns and incidents related to HIPAA in the Compliance Department incident management system
- Communicate effectively with leadership and team members regarding confidentiality and HIPAA-related concerns
- Provide support to departments in addressing compliance issues and enforcing disciplinary actions for HIPAA violations
- Assist in developing and delivering Compliance and HIPAA Privacy education for all team members and affiliates
What is Required (Qualifications):
- 1 to 3 years of previous experience in a similar compliance role
- Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and payer-specific regulations regarding documentation, coding, and billing
- Prior experience in compliance within healthcare settings
- Outstanding analytical, reporting, and communication skills
- Associates degree or equivalent experience; required certifications include CHC or CHPC
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Knowledge of EPIC, Cerner, or similar healthcare solutions
- Coding certification and/or prior experience in coding audits
